Last month, my husband and I enjoyed a romantic getaway at Blockhaus An Der Skiwiese in Braunlage, and it was just the cozy retreat we needed to escape the hustle of London. The chalet was impeccably clean and perfectly equipped, allowing us to whip up a lovely dinner in the kitchenette while enjoying complimentary bottled water and a good fire crackling away; the free firewood was a lovely touch! We even had the option for a fifth or sixth guest to join us upstairs, which could be great if we decide to make it a group outing next time. After a day spent skiing and exploring the surrounding nature conservation area, we loved unwinding in the sauna, followed by a glass of wine on our charming terrace. Braunlage, with its quaint cafes and warm atmosphere, made this trip lovely and just the right balance of adventure and relaxation for a couple who enjoys both the outdoors and comfort.
